“Empty Vessels” was an inquisition and exploration around the idea of value in an age of recreated realities. The accompanying art book seeks to question the state of decorative versus utilitarian in a digital age. A series is split into three themes, named after the three distinct acts of the Triadic Ballet by Osker Schlemmer, namely: Circles, Triangles, and Squares. The collages are a range of digitally manipulated textiles and paper collages. Taking inspiration from the ornamental but non-functional accents found within certain Chinese porcelain wares, objects become garments and garments become objects. Experienced through artifice and recreation, the collection opens itself to interpretation.
